Who Is Mozhgan Daneshfar?
Mozhgan Daneshfar is one of the leading designers, architects, builders, consultants, and educators in Iran. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s in interior architecture. Beginning her professional career in 2008, she established her own company, Barman, in 2010. Since then, she has worked on numerous projects in Tehran and across Iran.

Interview With Mozhgan Daneshfar
We: What is the most prominent project you have completed in Tehran?
Mozhgan: The largest project was the Iran Mall Market, the biggest construction project in the Middle East. I’ve been honored to be part of the design and construction team, working on everything from infrastructure to furniture over the past three years. I completed this project, Which was about 7,000 sqm, using many high-quality products from renowned brands. It stands as one of my most significant achievements.
We: What impact does flooring have on the projects you work on? In your opinion, what is the best type of flooring?
Mozhgan: Choosing the right flooring depends on the design concept, and naturally, each concept requires its own specific type of flooring. Additionally, the choice of flooring type depends on the area as well. It’s not feasible to apply a single flooring type to all spaces and designs. However, more important factor is the quality of the flooring. Nowadays, there is a wide range of floorings, providing us more choices when deciding.
We: What are your thoughts on wall-to-wall carpets? How can they influence a space? What should we consider when choosing the right moquette?
Mozhgan: When talking about wall-to-wall carpets, we refer to the new and modern moquettes. Regarding their patterns and textures, they can make our spaces feel more vibrant, especially in residential areas like bedrooms and children’s rooms, as well as in offices. Nowadays, we observe an increase in both the variety and quality of wall-to-wall carpets.
We: What are your thoughts on the new generation of moquettes, their improvements, and their position in the market? Do you prefer using domestic wall-to-wall carpets or foreign ones?
Mozhgan: Based on my investigations and the experiences of the material supply experts at my company, the new construction materials, Such as moquette produced in Iran, are of high quality and easy to replace if needed. Given the wide variety and quality of the new generation of wall-to-wall carpets produced in Iran, I prefer to use them in my projects.
We: What impact does the color of the carpet have on the space?
Mozhgan: I believe it significantly influences the space, especially since an architect should adhere to a specific style and concept. Each concept has its own specifications, such as design and color. By using the right color, the space can become more vibrant, beautiful, and inviting.
We: The new generation of wall-to-wall carpets features a softer and more tender texture. What impact does this feature have on a space?
Mozhgan: Generally, the presence of a good texture or pattern on a carpet will make the consumer feel warmer and more comfortable. The new generation of moquettes provides such area for consumers. It so nice to use these carpets in bedrooms. Imagine waking up and being greeted by a soft and beautiful wall-to-wall carpet as the first thing your feet touch. It would be a very pleasant. The right wall-to-wall carpet can positively influence both the space and the consumer in a pleasant and refreshing way.
We: As the last question, What do you think about Zarif Carpets?
Mozhgan: I have known Zarif Carpets for many years, given the quality, texture and color variety of its new wall-to-wall carpets, Zarif Carpets surprised me.
